Wild re-sign center Mikko Koivu to one-year deal

ST. PAUL, Minn. -- The Minnesota Wild re-signed restricted free agent center Mikko Koivu to a one-year, $902,500 contract Tuesday.

The 23-year-old Koivu had six goals and 15 assists in 64 games as a rookie last season.

Koivu was the Wild's best shootout performer, scoring on four of his six opportunities. The sixth overall pick in the 2001 draft, Koivu was Minnesota's last remaining restricted free agent.

Also Tuesday, the Wild signed center Jason Morgan, who had been
with the Chicago Blackhawks, to a one-year contract. The
29-year-old had one goal and one assist in seven games with
Chicago in 2005-06.
