Report: Stajan, Leafs agree to two-year, $1.75M deal

TORONTO -- Matt Stajan and the Toronto Maple Leafs reached a common ground just in the nick of time.

One day before the opening of training camp, Stajan and the Maple Leafs agreed on a two-year, $1.75 million deal Wednesday, according to TSN of Canada.

Stajan, a restricted free agent who made $805,600 last season, will receive $800,000 in 2006-07 and $950,000 the following campaign, reported TSN.

A second-round pick in 2002, Stajan recorded 15 goals and 12 assists in 80 games last season, his second full campaign with Toronto. The 22-year-old Ontario native has collected 30 tallies and 55 points in 150 career contests.
