CHICAGO -- Chicago Blackhawks defenseman Cam Barker is expected to miss four to six weeks due to an ankle injury.

The Blackhawks announced Friday that Barker has re-fractured his ankle. The injury was discovered when he underwent an MRI.

Barker was Chicago's first-round draft choice (third overall) in the 2004 National Hockey League entry draft, and he made his NHL debut in October.

He won a gold medal with Team Canada at the 2005 World Junior Championships.
