What a sucker: Punch sidelines Edmonton LW Moreau

The Edmonton Oilers will be without left wing Ethan Moreau for at least a week after he sustained a dislocated right shoulder near the conclusion of Saturday's 3-1 victory over the Detroit Red Wings.

According to a report from The Sports Network of Canada, the injury occured when the veteran threw a punch at Red Wings defenseman
Danny Markov. Moreau's actions were in response to a massive hit by Markov on Oilers center Jarret Stoll that led to Detroit's lone goal by Pavel Datsyuk.

TSN reports that the shoulder popped out as Moreau, who signed a four-year contract extension earlier this month, pulled his arm back after throwing the punch. He went to the Oilers' dressing room immediately and popped his shoulder back in. Moreau did not return to the game.

Earlier in his career, Moreau dislocated his left shoulder during a fight with Chris Gratton.

The Oilers plan to use forward Jean-Francois Jacques or Alexei
Mikhnov in place of Moreau against Phoenix on Monday.

According to TSN, the Oilers will wait a week before deciding how to proceed on the injury.
