Hurricanes captain hurt in Cup finals rematch
The Hurricanes' loss to the Oilers on Wednesday night is an afterthought. Why? They've got their captain to worry about.
Rod Brind'Amour left during the second period of the Stanley Cup finals rematch with what the team called a "lower-body injury." The Hurricanes lost 3-1 in Edmonton.
According to a report from The News & Observer, the team did not disclose any further information on Brind'Amour's injury and would not give a timetable for a possible return.
The newspaper report added that Brind'Amour was seen walking around the visitors' locker room after the game.
The game was the first meeting between the two teams since Carolina beat Edmonton in Game 7 of the Cup finals.
