Bondra, 38, spent last season with the Atlanta Thrashers,
scoring 21 goals and 39 points in 60 games. He figures to
bolster a Blackhawks club which has netted just 67 goals, the
fourth-lowest total in the NHL.
"[Bondra] is a proven goal scorer," Blackhawks general manager
Dale Tallon said. "He's a tremendously fit athlete who will add
more speed and skill to our lineup. He will help our power
play, and his experience will greatly help our younger players."
A five-time All-Star, Bondra has 498 goals and 380 assists in
13-plus seasons with Atlanta, Ottawa and Washington.
