Giguere day-to-day; Beauchemin out indefinitely
ANAHEIM, Calif. -- Anaheim goalie Jean-Sebastien Giguere was listed as day-to-day with a groin strain Wednesday and defenseman Francois Beauchemin is out for at least a month with a lacerated spleen for the NHL-leading Ducks.
The Ducks are off to one of the best starts in NHL history but have been beset by injuries lately.
Center Todd Marchant (abdominal strain) and backup goalie Ilya Bryzgalov are also listed as day-to-day and defenseman Sean O'Donnell (lacerated foot) is probable for Anaheim's next game, Friday night at Carolina.
Beauchemin and Giguere both left in the second period of Tuesday night's 4-3 victory at San Jose. Michael Wall took over for Giguere and made four saves in his second NHL appearance.
The Los Angeles Times reported Giguere was scheduled to undergo an MRI exam late Wednesday, and that results weren't expected until Thursday.
The Associated Press contributed to this report.
