Brisebois day-to-day with back injury

DENVER -- The Colorado Avalanche recalled defenseman Kyle Cumiskey from Albany of the AHL on Thursday after Patrice Brisebois suffered a back injury on Wednesday night.

Brisebois was listed as day-to-day.

He was hurt in the second period of Colorado's 5-4 loss to Dallas and did not return.

Cumiskey, 20, had four goals and 12 assists in 28 games with Albany.

He spent three seasons with the Kelowna of the Western Hockey League before signing an entry-level contract with the Avalanche on Sept. 25.
