Dumont, in his second season with the Predators, ranks second on the team in goals (18), assists (27) and points (45). He currently has a franchise record 16-game point streak dating to Dec. 29.

In the last seven seasons, he has 160 goals and 207 assists in 568 games with Chicago, Buffalo and Nashville.

Dumont had a club-record six-game goal streak this season.

David Poile, the Predators' president/general manager, cited Dumont's "commitment, leadership, work ethic and reputation as a big-game performer."

"When he expressed a desire to stay in Nashville, we jumped at the opportunity to keep him as part of our team's foundation for the next four seasons," Poile said.

The 29-year-old right winger came to the Predators as an unrestricted free agent prior to last season. He's currently an alternate captain.

Dumont has played in 76 or more games in all but one of the last seven seasons. In the 1996 draft, he was taken by the New York Islanders as the third overall pick.
