The injury is expected to keep Kopecky out four to six months, team spokesman John Hahn said Friday.
Kopecky limped off the ice in the second period of Thursday night's 3-2 win over the Columbus Blue Jackets. His legs were taken out from under him in a collision with Columbus' Manny Malhotra.
Kopecky also missed last season's playoffs with a broken collarbone.
In 77 games this season, he had five goals and seven assists for 12 points. He also had 43 penalty minutes.
