Maple Leafs sign Stajan to two-year deal

TORONTO -- The Toronto Maple Leafs signed restricted free-agent forward Matt Stajan to a two-year, $3.5 million contract on Monday.

The 24-year-old played in all 82 games last season. He scored a career-high 16 goals and added 17 assists and 47 penalty minutes.

In 314 games with the Maple Leafs, Stajan has 56 goals and 71 assists.

He was Toronto's second choice, 57th overall, in the 2002 entry draft.
