Forsberg wants to play in NHL again, hopefully by postseason
Peter Forsberg wants to return to the NHL. Again.
Forsberg, 35, said Monday that he wants to play in the NHL again and hopes to be with a team by the postseason. The Denver Post reported that if Forsberg returns, it will likely be with the Colorado Avalanche."I want to play. I hate sitting in the stands and not be able to be out there on the ice," Forsberg said Monday on the Swedish television program "Hockeynight." "If it doesn't work this time, I'll call it quits. But I have the best doctor in the world [Bertil Romanus], and without him I would have given up already. I'm still hopeful." Forsberg had surgery on his right foot a few weeks ago, but neither he nor his agent, Don Baizley, would comment on the procedure. Forsberg said on "Hockeynight" that he wore electrodes on the foot after he returned to the Avalanche late last season. "[I had] a battery package hidden in my pants," he said. "When I turned it on, the foot straightened in the skates. It was kind of funny."
