DETROIT -- The Detroit Red Wings general manager says the team won't be a big player when free agency opens on Wednesday.

GM Ken Holland said Tuesday that the Red Wings did most of their shopping during the season by extending the contracts of center Henrik Zetterberg and right winger Johan Franzen.

Holland also said the team has received no signs from potential free agent Marian Hossa about his plans.

Hossa, who scored 40 goals during the regular season, signed a one-year contract with Detroit because he thought the Red Wings gave him the best chance to win a championship. Instead, he watched the Pittsburgh Penguins, his former team, beat the Red Wings in a seven-game Stanley Cup finals thriller.

Hossa has said he wants to stay in Detroit with a long-term deal.
