Rangers hold Gaborik out of practice
Marian Gaborik was held out of practice Tuesday as the New York Rangers forward deals with an undisclosed injury he suffered after colliding with a player in the Monday's 5-2 win over the Phoenix Coyotes.
The Rangers said Gaborik will be re-evaluated Wednesday and reiterated the injury was nothing major and "not related to any issues he's had in the past."
Gaborik scored two goals and added an assist in the Rangers' win Monday but didn't finish the game and limped to the dressing room.
"I collided with one of their players, but it's nothing major," Gaborik told reporters after the game. "It happened with about five minutes left and the game was pretty much over."
Gaborik has 16 points in 12 games, quickly paying dividends on the big free-agent contract the Rangers gave him this summer to pry him from the Minnesota Wild.
