Russia too much for Forsberg, Sweden
HELSINKI -- Sergei Zinoviev scored twice to help a speedy Russia team beat Sweden 4-1 in the second round of the four-nation Karjala Cup.
The loss came during Peter Forsberg's 100th game for the national team in Helsinki.
Forsberg is playing in his first international tournament since setting up the winning goal in the 2006 Olympic final against Finland. He created a number of chances with his clever passing, but Russia's Zinoviev scored early in the first period.
Forsberg, a former NHL MVP and two-time Stanley Cup winner, has been bothered by a persistent foot injury. He played three games for hometown club Modo in the Swedish league this season.
Forsberg hasn't ruled out playing in the Vancouver Olympics.
