The Pittsburgh Penguins dodged a bullet Monday with news Evgeni Malkin does not have a fracture in his leg and is listed as day to day.
The star forward left Sunday's game after taking a point shot from teammate Kris Letang. The Penguins held their collective breath, but X-rays Monday were negative and Malkin should not be out for too long.
Malkin has 23 goals and 46 assists in 62 games this season for the Penguins.
