Sources: Cap to increase by $2.6 million
The NHL's salary cap will rise for the fifth straight year, jumping $2.6 million to $59.4 million for the 2010-11 season, multiple sources have told ESPN.com.
The cap floor -- the lowest amount a team can spend on payroll -- will now be $43.4 million.
The cap was $56.8 million last season and is determined by hockey-related revenues calculated by the league and the players' association.
