Brett Sutter apologizes for fight
Sutter was briefly jailed on suspicion of assault in Scottsdale, where police say the 23-year-old was taken into custody early Thursday after he allegedly punched a man as the two were leaving the American Junkie bar at closing time.
On Monday, the Flames demoted him to their minor league team in Abbotsford, British Columbia. Sutter is the son of Flames general manager Darryl Sutter and nephew of Calgary coach Brent Sutter.
"I want to apologize to my family, my friends, our fans and the entire Flames family for what took place this past Wednesday night," Sutter said in a statement released by the Flames.
