NHL sets cap at $64.3 million
The NHL has officially set next season's salary cap at $64.3 million, a leap from the $59.4 million cap of this past season, the league and players' association announced Thursday.
The miminum that teams will be required to spend next season will be $48.3 million.
The NHL's salary cap was $39 million when the league came out of the lockout for the 2005-06 season.
