Nabokov Ties Smith's Islanders Record
From Elias: Islanders goaltender Evgeni Nabokov recorded his league-leading 14th road win of the season with a 5-4 shootout victory at Winnipeg on Saturday. No other goaltender has more than 11 road wins in this lockout-shortened season, and even in this short season, Nabokov has tied the Islanders record for most road wins by a goaltender in one season, a mark set by Hall-of-Famer Billy Smith with a 14-4-4 mark in 22 games in 1976-77. Nabokov is 14-3-2 in 19 road games this season, though five of his wins have come in overtime (three) or shootouts (two). Smith set the team record in an era with no overtime in regular-season games and no shootouts.

Nabokov Is A Devils Killer
From Elias: Evgeni Nabokov made 24 saves as he led the Islanders to a 3-1 win at New Jersey that pulled the Isles within two points of the Devils in the Eastern Conference standings. Monday's game completed the season series between the two teams, which the Islanders won with three victories to the Devils' two. Nabokov was in goal for the Islanders in all five games, posting a 2.01 goals-against average. He's the first Islanders goaltender to register three wins against New Jersey in one season since Rick DiPietro went 4-1-0 in five games against the Devils in 2007-08.
