| News: Shanahan has announced his retirement after 21 NHL seasons. Spin: He didn't draw any significant interest after the Devils terminated his contract back in October. Shanahan finishes with 656 goals (11th all-time) and 1,354 points in 1,524 games. He's the only player in NHL history with 600 goals and 2,000 penalty minutes, a product of his scoring ability and power forward mentality. Shanahan will likely be selected to the Hall of Fame when he's eligible to do so in three years. |
