The Anaheim Ducks' reign at the top of our Power Rankings was short-lived as the Pacific Division-rival San Jose Sharks take over the top spot.

The Sharks have won 10 straight games -- that's 10 straight regulation wins, thank you -- to take over the division lead and hold a firm second-place spot in the Western Conference.

The New York Rangers are on a roll in the East as they've gone 10-0-3 in their last 13 games, thanks in part to the new line combinations of Brendan Shanahan-Nigel Dawes-Scott Gomez, Martin Straka-Chris Drury-Ryan Callahan and Sean Avery-Brandon Dubinsky-Jaromir Jagr.

As always, you can weigh in and rank your 30 teams here.

Until next time, enjoy, puckheads!

2007-2008 Power Rankings: Week 22
  RK (PV)   TEAM REC. COMMENT
1 (4)   Sharks 41-21-8 San Jose has now won 10 straight games and sits atop the Pacific Division, while rivals Dallas and Anaheim had up-and-down weeks. Evgeni Nabokov is just a stud.
2 (1)   Ducks 39-25-8 A 1-2-1 week pulls the Ducks out of the top spot. During that stretch, Anaheim went 0-for-16 on the power play.
3 (3)   Penguins 39-24-7 Sidney Crosby's out again, but at least he's practicing with Marian Hossa (knee injury). The schedule gets tougher this week with matchups vs. Buffalo, Philly and the New York Rangers.
4 (2)   Stars 42-25-5 The Stars rebounded from a three-game skid as Marty Turco shut out the Avs in the second half of a home-and-home. It would be nice for Dallas if it could get defensemen Sergei Zubov and Philippe Boucher back in the lineup.
5 (5)   Canadiens 39-23-9 After a 2-2-0 stretch during a four-game West Coast swing, the Canadiens took over the Eastern Conference lead with Carey Price's shutout of the Devils.
6 (7)   Red Wings 46-18-6 We know the Red Wings lead the league in overall points, but they can thank their first-half cushion for that. Still, players are coming back to the lineup and the four-game streak could mean Detroit recovers just in time for the playoff push.
7 (9)   Rangers 37-24-9 We are eating our words here on the Power Rankings page. We can admit it. The Rangers are in the middle of a 10-0-3 stretch, their longest unbeaten streak since the 1993-94 season. Hmm.
8 (6)   Devils 40-24-6 When you can sweep two vs. Toronto but can't beat Montreal, what does that say about your playoff picture?
9 (8)   Flames 36-23-10 Jarome Iginla scored his 365th goal to become Calgary's all-time leading scorer. We think he'd like a Cup to go along with that record.
10 (11)   Avalanche 38-27-6 Well, that Peter Forsberg return was short-lived. But amid all of the hoopla, and other injuries to endure, the Avs are 8-2-0 in their past 10 games and are tied for the Northwest lead.
11 (14)   Canucks 35-24-10 The Canucks have won three straight, including an important decision over the Preds, who are trying to knock Vancouver out of the eighth and final playoff spot in the West.
12 (10)   Wild 37-26-7 Four straight losses, and that first-place Northwest lead has passed the Wild by. Said Marian Gaborik: "It's huge to stay positive, play with confidence. We had some ups and downs. But we can't look in the past."
13 (16)   Hurricanes 37-29-5 The Hurricanes have won four straight and seven of their past eight games. All without captain Rod Brind'Amour.
14 (15)   Senators 39-25-7 "Game-changing stuff" is how Jason Spezza described Martin Gerber's performance earlier this week, causing the Ottawa media to declare that the goalie controversy is over.
15 (13)   Bruins 36-26-8 The Bruins are still without Zdeno Chara (out with the ambiguous "upper-body" injury) and have failed to score on the power play in four of their past five games.
16 (12)   Predators 35-28-8 The Predators drop a few spots after a 1-3-0 week. The problem, perhaps? "Senseless penalties," says coach Barry Trotz.
17 (20)   Flyers 35-26-9 The Flyers went 2-0-1 over the past week, gaining valuable points in the Eastern Conference playoff race.
18 (19)   Sabres 32-27-11 The Sabres are in the same boat as the Flyers, but they've now lost defensemen Jaroslav Spacek and Dmitri Kalinin for the playoff push. Still, they were able to salvage points vs. Carolina and the New York Rangers in the past few days.
19 (17)   Coyotes 35-30-5 The Coyotes picked up a big win against the Ducks this past week, but can they catch Minny and Vancouver in the standings?
20 (18)   Capitals 32-30-8 Nicklas Backstrom, we feel your pain.
21 (21)   Blackhawks 33-30-7 Three straight losses ... and a growing feeling we're going to have to wait until next season to see the wonder twins in the playoffs.
22 (23)   Blue Jackets 31-28-11 The Blue Jackets have picked up points in four of their past five games, but it's an exercise in futility.
23 (27)   Oilers 34-31-5 Andrew Cogliano!!!!
24 (22)   Islanders 32-32-7 Coach Ted Nolan has our respect, but these Isles are not returning to the playoffs this season.
25 (26)   Panthers 32-31-8 Four straight wins. Craig Anderson in net. We're still confused.
26 (25)   Maple Leafs 31-30-10 The Maple Leafs survived the "Blizzard of 2008," but the playoffs still seem way out of reach.
27 (24)   Blues 29-30-11 The Blues are 1-7-2 over the last 10 games and have just seven wins since Jan. 11. Does coach Andy Murray survive such a second-half collapse?
28 (28)   Thrashers 30-33-8 Another week of free-fallin' ...
29 (29)   Lightning 27-35-8 Cue up the Tom Petty ...
30 (30)   Kings 27-38-6 Is Joe Torre available?
