After the NHL's own version of championship weekend, the Power Rankings went through a little shake-up.

East powers (Boston vs. Washington) and West powers (Detroit vs. San Jose) both tangled this past weekend, with the Capitals and Sharks emerging victorious. Both teams were rewarded here for those hard-fought wins, but we all know how things can change from week to week.

For our one highlight from the dogfight at the bottom half of this week's list, we give you this gem from Toronto Maple Leafs coach Ron Wilson: "Napoleon? Well, whatever Don Cherry wants to say -- I'll compare my record with Don Cherry. He can call me whatever he wants."

As always, tells us how you feel about this week's rankings.

2008-2009 Power Rankings: Week 13
  RK (PV)   TEAM REC. COMMENT
1 (3)   Sharks 33-6-5 The Sharks' big win over Detroit this past weekend catapults them into our top spot ... for now.
2 (1)   Red Wings 31-8-6 The Wings drop arguably their first "big game" of the season, but they'll be looking for retribution Feb. 25.
3 (4)   Capitals 29-14-3 The Capitals rebounded over the past week, winning a key battle against fellow East power Boston. Mike Green, not an All-Star this season, leads both the Caps and NHL defensemen with 10 power-play goals.
4 (2)   Bruins 33-8-4 The Bruins' lineup is without six regulars, including Patrice Bergeron, Phil Kessel, Milan Lucic and Marco Sturm.
5 (6)   Canadiens 27-11-6 While the hockey world continues to wonder whether the Habs are really talking to the Bolts about Mr. Lecavalier, Montreal is 8-2-0 heading into All-Star week.
6 (4)   Flames 27-14-4 Poor Curtis McElhinney. We feel your pain.
7 (8)   Blackhawks 25-10-8 How much is Patrick Kane's sore ankle affecting his game? He hasn't had a point in his past five games and hasn't scored a goal in his past 10 contests.
8 (9)   Devils 27-15-3 Hitting the road hasn't hurt the Devils one bit ... they've won four out of five away from Newark before finishing up the trip in Nashville on Monday.
9 (7)   Flyers 24-12-9 We suspect Donovan McNabb and Andy Reid will now have more time to help support the Orange Crush.
10 (11)   Rangers 27-16-4 Despite ending on a down note (losing 3-0 to Pittsburgh), the Rangers did post a 3-1-1 record during their five-game road trip, their longest travel stretch of the season so far.
11 (12)   Sabres 23-17-5 Like anyone should doubt why Lindy Ruff has lasted this long behind the bench in Buffalo. The Sabres are 7-3-0 in their past 10 games. The only potential concern: Backup Patrick Lalime is 2-6-1 so far this season.
12 (17)   Penguins 23-20-4 Good news this past week for Pens fans: Sidney Crosby returned to the lineup after missing a game with an apparent leg injury, and the team is back in a playoff spot (for now).
13 (13)   Ducks 23-19-5 As our Scott Burnside points out, Ryan Getzlaf and Corey Perry rank first and third, respectively, among all forwards in minor penalties, and second and sixth among all NHL players.
14 (14)   Coyotes 23-19-5 Coyotes go 2-2-0 on Western road trip. Now Detroit and Anaheim, two teams Phoenix could potentially meet in the playoffs, await.
15 (10)   Canucks 22-19-6 Roberto Luongo returned to action this past week, but we all know it's going to take more than a few games for him to get back into the swing. But given how tight the West race is, time isn't a luxury for the Canucks.
16 (20)   Oilers 23-19-3 Welcome back, Ales Hemsky. After missing 10 games (concussion), the winger scored twice for the resurging Oilers.
17 (15)   Hurricanes 21-20-5 Five straight losses, and the Hurricanes were outscored 23-9 over that span.
18 (18)   Wild 22-19-3 This season, the Wild are 10-2-1 against the Eastern Conference and 12-17-2 vs. the West.
19 (19)   Blue Jackets 22-19-4 With a recent 7-3-0 run, the Blue Jackets are just one point out of a playoff spot heading into this week's action.
20 (16)   Avalanche 23-22-1 Raycroft? Budaj? Raycroft? Budaj? Coach Tony Granato isn't committing to one or the other just yet.
21 (21)   Panthers 21-16-7 The Panthers are riding a seven-game points streak as they inch closer to a playoff spot.
22 (24)   Stars 19-17-7 The Stars are 8-3-3 in their past 14 games, but are the playoffs realistic at this point?
23 (22)   Predators 20-22-3 After posting its worst loss of the season (a 7-2 decision vs. the lowly Thrashers), Nashville has now dropped three of its past four games.
24 (25)   Kings 17-20-7 D-man Jack Johnson, who hadn't played since injuring his shoulder in his second game of the season, returned to action this week.
25 (25)   Maple Leafs 17-21-7 It's time for Ron Wilson's Quote of the Week: "Napoleon? Well, whatever Don Cherry wants to say -- I'll compare my record with Don Cherry. He can call me whatever he wants."
26 (27)   Lightning 14-21-10 Hear that sound? That's the door closing on Tampa Bay's playoff chances.
27 (29)   Senators 15-21-7 Looking into Ottawa's future, is goalie Brian Elliott the answer?
28 (26)   Blues 17-23-4 The unfortunate string of injuries continue for the Blues ... this time, it's defenseman Roman Polak, who will miss 4-6 weeks with a broken bone in his foot.
29 (28)   Thrashers 16-25-5 This past week, Atlanta posted back-to-back wins for the first time since Nov. 14 (the only other time this season they've done it). No, we're not kidding.
30 (30)   Islanders 12-29-4 Rock bottom might be coming as the Islanders await word on the status of Rick DiPietro.
