With so many great matchups in the past week, we're itching for the NHL playoffs.

And one of the surprising stories of the season is the solid play from the New Jersey Devils. Not many could have predicted such a strong run without star netminder Martin Brodeur, who has been out of the lineup since early November (distal biceps tear in left elbow).

Scott Clemmensen, who has a 22-9-1 record this season, has helped the Devils post a 9-1-0 run in their past 10 games. It's a run that has included recent wins over Vancouver, Montreal, Pittsburgh and Boston, good enough to put them in our top spot for this week.

Until next week, feel free to weigh in with your Top 30 right here.

2008-2009 Power Rankings: Week 15
  RK (PV)   TEAM REC. COMMENT
1 (5)   Devils 32-15-3 Did anyone think the Devils would be in the midst of a 9-1-0 run, sitting atop the Atlantic, without Martin Brodeur in the lineup? Scott Clemmensen, for the record, is 22-9-1 this season.
2 (4)   Bruins 37-8-6 Big wins over Washington, the New York Rangers and Montreal give Boston a boost this week.
3 (1)   Sharks 36-7-5 San Jose suffered its second home regulation loss of the season after posting back-to-back shutouts.
4 (3)   Capitals 32-15-4 We've seen "Goofy" Ovie at the skills competition. This week, it's "Sleepy" Ovie. And both shoot and score (five goals in his past two games).
5 (2)   Red Wings 31-11-7 Five straight losses, and the Flames and Blackhawks are putting on the pressure. The first real test for GM Ken Holland and Co.
6 (6)   Flames 30-14-4 It's been a while since we've seen someone other than Jarome Iginla lead the Flames in goals ... Michael Cammalleri leads the team with 25 tallies and has 11 goals and three assists over his past eight games.
7 (10)   Blackhawks 27-13-8 Jonathan Toews talked about the Hawks making "a breakthrough" this season. Could their recent win over San Jose be it?
8 (8)   Flyers 26-14-9 The Flyers are switching between Martin Biron and backup Antero Niittymaki in net. Imagine, a little goalie instability in Philly.
9 (14)   Ducks 25-22-5 With a few games under his belt since returning from injury, Teemu Selanne (and his 13 power-play goals) should see more time on the man advantage.
10 (9)   Rangers 29-18-4 The Rangers have allowed more goals than they've scored, plus their power-play percentage (14.8 percent) ranks last in the East. Right now, not the makings of a long playoff run.
11 (7)   Canadiens 28-16-6 Just one win in their past six games, and now news that Robert Lang is out indefinitely after undergoing surgery for a severed Achilles tendon. Any remote chance of gaining on Boston in the Northeast just went out the window.
12 (12)   Sabres 26-19-5 Ryan Miller started in 12 of 13 games in January, allowing two or fewer goals eight times in that span.
13 (11)   Coyotes 24-22-5 One week, the Coyotes are in; the next, they're out. Such is life in the Western Conference playoff race.
14 (13)   Penguins 24-22-5 Ditto for the Penguins in the East.
15 (15)   Oilers 25-21-3 Dustin Penner on his game: "I just can't find it. If I knew why, I'd try to fix it right now. I know my game isn't there right now. All of a sudden you wake up one day and it's gone." Is that Brian Burke we hear laughing?
16 (16)   Hurricanes 25-21-5 The Canes have won four of their past five games, and Cam Ward posted two shutouts in that stretch (mind you, those were against Toronto and Atlanta). Still, they're in the Top 8 ... for now.
17 (20)   Stars 23-18-7 Five wins over their past six games, and just like that, the Stars are in the West mix again. And the future plays in Dallas' favor -- 10 of its 13 games in February are at home.
18 (18)   Wild 25-21-3 Minnesota ... where Cal Clutterbuck mania is sweeping the land!
19 (19)   Blue Jackets 24-21-5 Wade Dubielewicz's return to the NHL? Not so pleasant.
20 (22)   Panthers 23-18-8 Goalie Tomas Vokoun moved above .500 for the first time this season after back-to-back wins last week before dropping a weekend matchup against the Islanders.
21 (17)   Canucks 22-20-8 This week's tally -- Vancouver has won just one game since Mats Sundin's arrival, and Roberto Luongo is winless in five starts since his return.
22 (23)   Kings 20-21-7 The league's youngest team went 3-1-0 in the past week on the shoulders of 23-year-old netminder Jonathan Quick.
23 (24)   Lightning 17-23-10 According to local reports, goalie Mike Smith did not travel with the Bolts for their upcoming game against the Isles because of an "undisclosed upper-body injury."
24 (25)   Predators 22-24-3 Nashville gained ground in the playoff chase with wins over Vancouver and Edmonton. Phoenix is up next.
25 (28)   Maple Leafs 19-23-8 The Maple Leafs posted back-to-back wins for the first time since Dec. 22. Must have been that Doug Gilmour celebration.
26 (21)   Avalanche 23-26-1 While the Avs deal with not having Joe Sakic and Paul Stastny in the lineup, Adam Foote's return has been delayed because of a rehab setback. Meanwhile, Wojtek Wolski is in the midst of an eight-game goal-scoring drought.
27 (27)   Senators 17-24-7 The hammer finally falls as coach Craig Hartsburg doesn't last the season.
28 (30)   Islanders 15-29-5 Don't say the Rankings don't have a heart. The Isles climb out of "Chateau Bow Wow" after posting three straight wins.
29 (26)   Blues 20-24-4 And there's the other Mason in net. Chris Mason has won three of his past four starts, including shutouts vs. Chicago and Philly.
30 (29)   Thrashers 17-29-5 Four straight losses and counting.
