RALEIGH, North Carolina (Ticker) -- Tomas Vokoun and the Nashville Predators try to set a franchise record with a fifth straight victory Wednesday night when they visit the RBC Center to face the Carolina Hurricanes.

Vokoun already has set a team record by winning five straight decisions and on Monday was named Defensive Player of the Week after going 4-0-0 with a 1.50 goals-against average and .950 save percentage.

The 27-year-old Vokoun made 22 saves and Vladimir Orszagh recorded his first career hat trick and set up the other goal to lead the Predators to a 4-1 win over the Buffalo Sabres on Saturday. Vokoun is 3-1-1 with a .937 save percentage against the Hurricanes.

Nashville, which is 6-0-0 when Orszagh scores a goal, has outscored its opponents, 13-6, in the fifth four-game winning streak in franchise history.

Carolina has won two of its last three contests following a five-game winless streak.

On Saturday, Radim Vrbata recorded his second career hat trick as the Hurricanes extended their home unbeaten streak to three games (1-0-2) with a 4-3 triumph over the Pittsburgh Penguins.

The Predators lead the all-times with the Hurricanes, 4-3-1.
