PITTSBURGH (Ticker) -- The Pittsburgh Penguins try to avoid a
sixth straight defeat when they host the road-troubled Columbus
Blue Jackets at Mellon Arena on Saturday.
The Penguins went 0-4-0-1 on a road trip and are 1-6-0-1 in
their last eight games.
Pittsburgh lost at Atlanta on Friday, 6-3, playing without
rookie goalie Marc-Andre Fleury, who is with Canada's World
Junior championship team.
Sebastien Caron started instead and allowed four goals on 15
shots before being replaced by Jean-Sebastien Aubin with the
Penguins tailing 4-3 in the second period.
The Blue Jackets are 0-9-1-1 away from Nationwide Arena - the
only winless road mark in the league. Columbus is on a
franchise-record road losing streak since beating Calgary on
Columbus is 0-2-1-1 since beating Anaheim on December 2, falling
to St. Louis at home on Friday, 3-2 in overtime. Doug Weight
scored the winning goal with nine seconds left after Keith
Tkachuk got away with a crosscheck on Darryl Sydor.
Rick Nash scored his league-leading 19th goal for Columbus.
This is the only meeting between the teams this season. Columbus
posted a 5-2 home win last December 31 in their only encounter
