Toronto (18-6-5-3) at Washington (10-19-2-1) 7:00 pm EST

WASHINGTON (Ticker) -- The Toronto Maple Leafs can collect a point for the 13th straight game Friday night as they visit the Washington Captials.

Since a 3-2 loss at Edmonton on November 20, the Maple Leafs have gained a point in a team-record 12 games. That loss in Edmonton was the final game of a five-game winless skid and the players held a team meeting afterwards.

Two nights after losing in Edmonton, Toronto concluded its six-game road trip with a 5-3 win at Vancouver and hasn't cooled off since. The Maple Leafs had an eight-game winning streak December 9 stopped but picked up a point by getting to overtime.

Toronto won its third straight with Tuesday's 3-0 victory over the Tampa Bay Lightning. Captain Mats Sundin collected his 600th NHL assist and scored his 12th goal of the season. He has nine goals and 13 assists over his last 16 games.

The Maple Leafs have a six-game road winning streak dating to November 22. The club record is seven games, which has been accomplished three times. The last time was from January 28-February 22, 2003.

Ed Belfour has notched a pair of shutouts and given up just one goal in the two games.

Friday marks the return of defenseman Ken Klee to Washington. He signed a one-year contract on September 27 after spending his first nine seasons with the Capitals.

Klee led the club with a rating of plus-22 last season and registered 43 goals and 68 assists in 570 career games.

Klee's former team is among the worst in the NHL and is 2-1-1 under new coach Glen Hanlon, who replaced the fired Bruce Cassidy nine days ago.

Washington skated to a 2-2 tie at Florida on Wednesday as it got goals from Peter Bondra and Bates Battaglia.

Robert Lang, who turns 33 on Friday, failed to get a point and enters tied with Detroit's Pavel Datsyuk for the lead in the NHL scoring race with 40 points.

Jaromir Jagr missed the game with a thumb injury and is day-to-day.

Toronto is 5-0-1 in the last six meetings with Washington.
