TAMPA, Florida (Ticker) -- The Colorado Avalanche hope to have
Peter Forsberg in the lineup Monday night as they face the Tampa
Bay Lightning in the opener of a four-game road trip.
Forsberg did not play Saturday due to a groin injury and the
Avalanche suffered a 2-1 home loss to San Jose, which was their
first regulation setback since December 29 vs. Vancouver.
Colorado is 16-5-0-1 when Forsberg plays this season and he is
considered questionable has been limited to 22 games this season
and when he plays. One of the top two-way players in the
league, Forsberg has five goals and 11 assists during an
eight-game points streak.
Despite the loss, Colorado is 9-1-0-1 in its last 11 games and
is tied with Vancouver for the lead in the Northwest Division.
Tampa Bay enters with a three-point lead over Atlanta atop the
Southest Division. The Lightning had a five-game winning streak
snapped with Saturday's 2-1 loss at Florida.
