DALLAS (Ticker) -- The Colorado Avalanche try to avoid their first three-game regular-season losing streak in more than a year when they visit the Dallas Stars on Friday at the American Airlines Center.

The Avalanche have not lost three straight regular-season games since January 7-11, 2003.

On Wednesday, Colorado was routed by Edmonton, 5-1. Brett Clark scored with 30 seconds remaining for the Avalanche, who are 0-for-9 on the power play over the last two contests.

The Avalanche still hold a four-point lead over Vancouver in the Northwest Division and are tied with Detroit for the most points in the Western Conference.

The Stars are eight points behind first-place San Jose in the Pacific Division.

On Wednesday, Dallas edged Los Angeles on the road, 4-3, behind two goals from Mike Modano and one each from Jere Lehtinen and Brenden Morrow. The Stars had been 0-2-1 over their prior three games.

The Avalanche have won each of the first three meetings between the teams this season and are aiming for their first season sweep since taking both encounters in the 1993-94 campaign.
