DALLAS (Ticker) -- Unbeaten in nine straight home games, the Dallas Stars may be without Mike Modano on Friday night when they continued an eight-game homestand against the Minnesota Wild.

Modano played just three shifts in Wednesday's 1-1 tie with the Los Angeles Kings before leaving with a groin injury. He is listed as day-to-day. Modano missed six games in early January with the same injury.

"It's a slight groin pull and he's day-to-day," Stars coach Dave Tippett said. "He said it wasn't near as bad as the last one."

Without their captain, the Stars moved to 6-0-3 in their last nine home games as Brenden Morrow scored midway through the second period and Marty Turco made 26 saves.

Dallas is tied for fifth in the Western Conference, just one point ahead of Calgary and Los Angeles.

Minnesota is 4-6-2-2 in its last 14 games and is 12th in the Western Conference. The Wild are 10 points behind Los Angeles and Calgary after Thursday's 4-0 loss at Nashville. Minnesota went 0-for-7 on the power play and former Star Manny Fernandez made 19 saves in falling to 6-10-8.

All-Star goaltender Dwayne Roloson missed Thursday's game to be with his family following the death of his father.

Dallas has posted a pair of 3-1 victories vs. Minnesota this season. Fernandez played both of those games and dropped to 6-5-0 against his former team.
