PITTSBURGH (Ticker) -- After a nearly perfect eight-game homestand, the Dallas Stars open a four-game road trip Tuesday night when they take on the Pittsburgh Penguins.
Marty Turco recorded his seventh shutout of the season and Stu Barnes assisted on three goals as the Stars completed a 7-0-1 homestand with a 4-0 victory over the San Jose Sharks on Sunday.
Dallas moved within two points of San Jose for the lead in the Pacific Division. On Monday, the Stars defenseman Chris Therien from the Philadelphia Flyers for an eighth-round pick in the 2004 draft and a third-round pick in the 2005 draft.
Pittsburgh is cemented in last place in the Atlantic Division, but is trying to win three straight games for the first time this season.
Rookie Ryan Malone had a one goal and two assists and Milan Kraft tallied twice to lead the Penguins to a 7-4 victory over the New York Rangers on Sunday.
The Penguins are 4-2-1 following their NHL-record 18-game losing streak.
Dallas is 6-1-2 in its last nine meetings with Pittsburgh.
