NEW YORK (Ticker) -- The Pittsburgh Penguins try to stretch their winning streak to three games Tuesday night when they complete a home-and-home series with the New York Rangers at Madison Square Garden.
The Rangers outscored the Penguins, 14-4, in winning the first three meetings of the season. But Pittsburgh has taken the last two matchups, including Sunday's 4-3 overtime victory.
Aleksey Morozov scored a power-play goal with 7.9 seconds remaining as Pittsburgh improved to 7-1-1 in its last nine contests. Morozov has six goals in his last five games.
Jean-Sebastien Aubin made 31 saves Sunday to improve to 5-8-0.
Former Penguin Jaromir Jagr had seven shots on goal, but did not score in his first game at Pittsburgh as a Ranger.
Rangers captain Mark Messier was ejected in the second period for spearing defenseman Martin Strbak. Messier received a two-game suspension on Monday.
New York has lost six straight games, with half of those defeats coming in overtime.
