CALGARY, Alberta (Ticker) -- The Detroit Red Wings will be without captain Steve Yzerman as they try to keep alive their Stanley Cup hopes Monday against the Calgary Flames at the Pengrowth Saddledome.

Yzerman, sixth on the NHL all-time points list with 1,721, suffered a broken left eye socket and scratched cornea in Saturday's 1-0 home loss to the Flames, who grabbed a 3-2 advantage in the series.

Yzerman, who underwent 4 1/2 hours of surgery to correct blurred vision, suffered the injuries when a shot by teammate Mathieu Schneider deflected off the stick of Flames defenseman Rhett Warrener and hit him in the face.

Craig Conroy scored the only goal with 3:53 remaining in the second period and goaltender Miikka Kiprusoff made 31 saves for the Flames, who have won Games One, Three and Five.
