Chicago (1-2-0) at St. Louis (0-3-0), 8:00 pm EDT

ST. LOUIS (Ticker) -- The St. Louis Blues hope to find some defense, along with their first win, when they host the Chicago Blackhawks on Tuesday in a Central Division clash.

The Blues are the only team that has yet to earn a point in the young season, with their porous defense as the main culprit. In its three contests, St. Louis has given up a Western Conference-worst 16 goals.

On Saturday, the Blues had a 5-3 lead heading into the third period but surrendered four goals en route to a 7-6 loss to San Jose. Goaltender Patrick Lalime, who was acquired from Ottawa in June 2004, has the highest goals against average (5.99) in the NHL.

To make matters worse, Keith Tkachuk might miss his third straight game because of a sore groin.

The Blackhawks will be on the road for the first time this season. They are coming off a disappointing 3-2 loss to Columbus on Sunday.

Free agent signee Nikolai Khabibulin has been less than impressive with his new club. The 2004 Stanley Cup-winning goaltender has an .853 save percentage - third worst in the league.

Chicago has been hit by the injury bug, losing left wing Eric Daze because of a sore back and defenseman Adrian Aucoin to a groin injury.
