BOSTON (Ticker) -- Despite a lineup that includes a Hall of
Famer, the league's most talked-about rookie and some veteran
newcomers, the Pittsburgh Penguins have yet to win a game
The Penguins look to snap a franchise record for the longest
winless streak at the start of a season Saturday when they face
the Boston Bruins.
Pittsburgh is among the league leaders in goals allowed (33) and
has led in just one of its seven games this season. That was
the previous meeting against Boston on October 8, which the
Bruins won, 7-6, on Glen Murray's overtime tally.
Boston has lost its last three games, including Thursday's 4-3
defeat against Buffalo. Sergei Samsonov scored two goals and
Joe Thornton had two assists for Boston after missing three
games with a strained back.
Boston's Shawn McEachern, who is scoreless in seven contests,
is listed as day-to-day with back spasms. Defenseman Jiri
Slegr is also day-to-day with a back injury.
