LOS ANGELES (Ticker) -- A pair of teams that really could use a win square off Saturday when the Florida Panthers conclude a three-game road trip against the Los Angeles Kings.

The Panthers have dropped three straight games, including the first two of the road swing. They are coming off a 6-2 setback in San Jose on Thursday in which they outshot the Sharks, 36-24, but saw Jamie McLennan surrender six goals, including four in the second period.

Florida tries to get back on track Saturday against a Los Angeles team that also is hungry for a victory.

The Kings lost for the fifth time in six games Thursday, dropping a 3-2 decision to Carolina. Jeff Cowan and Eric Belanger scored third-period goals for Los Angeles, which went 0-for-6 with the man advantage.

Mathieu Garon made 19 saves for the Kings but still lost for the third time in his last four starts.

Los Angeles won the lone meeting between the teams in the 2003-04 season, recording a 3-2 victory on November 5, 2003.
