BUFFALO, New York (Ticker) -- The Tampa Bay Lightning are starting to grind out the type of wins that led them to their first Stanley Cup title in 2004.

The Lightning go for their third straight win Thursday when they face the Buffalo Sabres, who are playing the third game of their five-game homestand.

Tampa Bay has played five straight one-goal games, including a pair of overtime contests. After losing two of the first three, the defending champs have won their last two games by a combined score of 3-2.

In Tuesday's 1-0 overtime triumph over the New York Rangers, John Grahame made 36 saves and Vaclav Prospal scored with just over a minute left in the extra session to help Tampa Bay improve to 2-0 on its five-game road trip.

Meanwhile, Buffalo has dropped two of three since a stretch of nine wins in 10 games.

Defenseman Henrik Tallinder scored the team's lone goal midway through the second period and Ryan Miller made 18 saves for the Sabres, who went 0-for-7 with the man advantage.

Buffalo has won both meetings against Tampa Bay this season, including a 4-1 victory on December 23. Tallinder had a goal and an assist and Miller made 30 saves.
