NY Islanders (19-23-2) at Chicago (15-25-5) 8:30 pm EST
CHICAGO (Ticker) -- The struggling New York Islanders hope to rebound from one of the worst losses in franchise history when they visit the lowly Chicago Blackhawks on Tuesday.
After posting a 3-2 victory Thursday in interim coach Brad Shaw's debut, the Islanders dropped an ugly 8-1 decision to the Vancouver Canucks on Saturday.
Goaltender Rick DiPietro yielded four goals on just 13 shots before being pulled early in the second period, as New York matched a franchise record for the largest margin of defeat in a home game.
Defenseman Alexei Zhitnik scored the lone tally for the Islanders, who have dropped nine of their last 11.
New York hopes to get back on track against a Chicago squad which has lost 12 of its last 14 contests.
The Blackhawks dropped a tough 3-2 shootout decision to the New Jersey Devils on Sunday.
Rookie goalie Adam Munro made 24 saves while Tyler Arnason scored a goal and assisted on another for Chicago.
