GLENDALE, Arizona (Ticker) -- The struggling Chicago Blackhawks
hope to win for the first time on their six-game road trip when
they visit the Phoenix Coyotes on Tuesday.
The Blackhawks have lost seven of their last nine and enter
Tuesday's contest with just 41 points, the third-lowest total in
Chicago has dropped the first two legs of its road trip with the
most recent defeat coming Saturday, a 6-0 drubbing at the hands
of the Nashville Predators.
Despite taking 40 shots at Predators goaltender Tomas Vokoun,
the Blackhawks still could not find the back of the net and saw
their road losing streak increase to three games.
Chicago has not won on the road since a 4-3 overtime victory at
Washington on January 10. The Blackhawks hope to end their
slide Tuesday against a Coyotes squad which has dropped three of
its last four.
Phoenix hopes to rebound from its 6-4 loss to the Minnesota Wild
Geoff Sanderson tallied twice in the contest for the Coyotes,
who fell to 2-2-1 on their franchise-record 10-game homestand.
