Columbus (23-32-2) at Nashville (33-18-6) 8:00 pm EST
NASHVILLE, Tennessee (Ticker) - The Columbus Blue Jackets kick off the most bizarre road trip in team history Saturday when they skate with the Nashville Predators.
The Blue Jackets' four-game trek begins in Nashville and concludes in Anaheim nearly a month later. Of course, the Olympic break keeps the team on sabbatical from February 13-27.
Columbus enters having dropped two of three following its franchise-record five-game winning streak. Jan Hrdina scored the lone goal for the Blue Jackets in Friday's 4-1 loss to Colorado and Marc Denis allowed three tallies on 26 shots to fall to 15-19-0 on the season.
Nashville also is looking to get back on track following three consecutive defeats - one shy of its season-worst skid, set from December 28-January 3.
The Predators' latest setback came at the hands of Detroit on Thursday. Nashville jumped out to a 2-0 lead before Tomas Vokoun allowed two goals in the second period and another in the third en route to a 3-2 defeat.
Scott Hartnell and Paul Kariya scored power-play goals for the Predators, who have been outscored by a 13-4 margin during their streak.
Nashville has won four of its last five meetings with Columbus and six of the last seven matchups here.
