COLUMBUS, Ohio (Ticker) -- The Phoenix Coyotes hope to ride the momentum from an impressive victory Thursday when they skate with the Columbus Blue Jackets.

The Coyotes rolled over the Detroit Red Wings, 5-2, on Tuesday as Mike Comrie scored two goals and Curtis Joseph made 35 saves. Captain Shane Doan and Boyd Devereaux added a goal and two assists apiece as Phoenix won for just the third time in 10 games.

The contest was the first in a stretch of seven road games out of eight for Phoenix, which is 13-14-1 away from home.

The Blue Jackets have dropped five of six following Tuesday's 3-1 loss to Chicago. Marc Denis made 41 saves and Manny Malhotra scored the lone goal for Columbus, which has only nine goals in its last six contests.

In the last meeting between the teams, Columbus recorded a 5-2 victory on January 8 as defenseman Bryan Berard notched his first career hat trick and Sergei Fedorov picked up four assists. Denis made 32 saves for the Blue Jackets, who had not won in the last six encounters.
