BOSTON (Ticker) -- After completing their first season sweep of the Montreal Canadiens on Thursday, the Carolina Hurricanes look to do the same to the Boston Bruins when the teams face off Saturday.

Carolina, which leads the league with 96 points, continued its magical season with a 5-1 triumph over Montreal on Thursday. The Hurricanes improved to 4-0 against the Canadiens this season, outscoring them by a combined 25-9 margin.

The story has been a similar one against Boston this season as Carolina has won all three matchups by a 4-3 score, the latest coming on March 1 as defenseman Aaron Ward scored two goals, including the game winner late in the third period.

The Hurricanes are coming off Thursday's 5-1 win against Montreal behind two-goal games from Ray Whitney and Justin Williams. Eric Staal added his 40th goal of the campaign for Carolina, which has won two straight following a three-game skid.

Boston snapped a six-game losing streak with Thursday's 3-2 victory over Ottawa. Patrice Bergeron scored in regulation and in the shootout and rookie Tim Thomas made 31 saves and denied all three shootout attempts.

The Bruins had dropped their first six shootouts.
