EDMONTON, Alberta (Ticker) -- The Detroit Red Wings once again are red hot.

The Red Wings look to post their fifth straight victory Saturday when they skate with the Edmonton Oilers for the third time this season.

Detroit, which owns a Western Conference-best 95 points, is coming off Wednesday's 3-1 triumph over Anaheim.

Chris Osgood made 25 saves and Henrik Zetterberg and defenseman Mathieu Schneider scored first-period goals for the Red Wings, who also got three assists from blue-liner Nicklas Lidstrom.

Edmonton recorded its second straight win Tuesday, a 3-2 comeback victory over Calgary. Jarret Stoll and Shawn Horcoff scored third-period goals to move the Oilers within two points of Colorado for the fifth place in the Western Conference.

The Oilers have posted a pair of overtime victories in their two matchups with the Red Wings this season.
