LOS ANGELES (Ticker) -- If the Los Angeles Kings can snap their three-game slide on Saturday, it will come with a bonus prize.

The Kings look to get back on the winning track and sweep a season series with the St. Louis Blues for the first time in franchise history when the teams face off for the fourth time this season.

Los Angeles has followed a stretch of six wins in seven games by losing three straight by the combined score of 14-6. The most recent setback came against Dallas on Thursday, a 4-1 loss despite a shorthanded goal by Sean Avery.

The Kings, however, have won all three matchups with the Blues this season after losing six straight encounters entering the campaign.

Los Angeles needs the victory Saturday as it leads Anaheim by only one game for the eighth and final playoff spot in the Western Conference.

The Blues dropped a 5-2 decision to San Jose on Thursday despite Trent Whitfield scoring his first goal of the season. Scott Young also tallied for St. Louis, which has alternated wins and losses in eight games since the Olympic break.
