DETROIT (Ticker) -- A pair of red-hot teams collide Tuesday when the Detroit Red Wings put their six-game winning streak on the line against the Nashville Predators, who have won four consecutive contests.

Detroit currently has a nine-point advantage on Nashville for first place in the Central Division.

The Red Wings are coming off Sunday's resounding 7-3 triumph over Vancouver as Jason Williams scored twice and Pavel Datsyuk had a goal and two assists.

Tomas Holmstrom and defenseman Nicklas Lidstrom added first-period tallies for Detroit, which outshot Vancouver, 17-3, in the opening session en route to a 3-0 lead.

Meanwhile, Nashville won all four games on its recent homestand, capped by Monday's 4-2 win over St. Louis.

Scott Nichol recorded his first career two-goal game and Paul Kariya added a tally and set up another as the Predators improved to 7-0-2 in their last nine games.

Detroit goaltender Manny Legace has started in all five of the team's encounters with Nashville this season, going 3-1-1 with a 1.40 goals-against average.
