Detroit (50-15-8) at Minnesota (34-33-7) 3:30 pm EDT
ST. PAUL, Minnesota (Ticker) - The Detroit Red Wings can match a franchise record with their eighth straight road win Sunday with a victory over the Minnesota Wild.
Detroit last won eight consecutive games away from home from February 4-March 9, 2002.
The Red Wings, who already have clinched a playoff berth, are coming off Friday's 3-2 overtime loss to Chicago. Pavel Datsyuk tied it with 46 seconds left in regulation before Chris Osgood allowed the game-winner 1:29 into overtime.
Osgood finished with 31 saves and captain Steve Yzerman also tallied for Detroit, which had won nine of its last 11 games.
Minnesota is coming off Friday's 2-1 triumph vs. Vancouver as Mikko Koivu netted the only goal of the shootout. Manny Fernandez made 28 saves and denied all three attempts in the bonus format as the Wild won for the second time in three games despite scoring three goals or fewer for the eighth straight contest.
Detroit holds a 2-1 advantage in the season series, including a 5-4 triumph in the last matchup on January 30 as Robert Lang, Mikael Samuelsson and Henrik Zetterberg each collected a goal and an assist.
