Columbus (32-41-4) at Dallas (51-22-5) 8:30 pm EDT
DALLAS (Ticker) -- The Dallas Stars know where they are going to stand come playoff time. Now, they just want to play better when the postseason gets here.
The Stars will try to avoid losing for the fifth time in seven games Tuesday when they host the Columbus Blue Jackets, who never have enjoyed much success in the series.
Dallas is locked into the second seed in the Western Conference playoffs, but the team certainly would prefer to be playing well heading into the postseason.
The Stars dropped a 4-1 decision to the San Jose Sharks on Sunday as they were outshot, 32-10, over the first two periods and never recovered.
Defenseman Sergei Zubov scored the lone goal for Dallas, which owns an impressive all-time resume against Columbus. The Stars have won nine straight meetings overall and never have lost at home to the Blue Jackets, winning the last nine matchups here.
Columbus has dropped two straight games to the Detroit Red Wings since a franchise-best six-game winning streak. In Saturday's 4-2 setback to the Red Wings, the Blue Jackets got goals from Jan Hrdina and Manny Malhotra but went 0-for-2 with the man advantage.
