EDMONTON, Alberta (Ticker) -- The Detroit Red Wings are proud owners of the Presidents' Trophy. If they don't get their act together, that will be the only hardware they earn this year.

The Red Wings will try to even their Western Conference quarterfinal series against the Edmonton Oilers at two games apiece Thursday when the teams meet in Game Four of the best-of-seven affair.

After finishing with a league-best 124 points during the regular season, the top-seeded Red Wings took Game One against the eighth-seeded Oilers, 3-2, in overtime on Friday.

However, Edmonton rebounded to post a 4-2 triumph in Game Two and really made a statement Tuesday with a 4-3 double-overtime win that certainly sent Central Division champion Detroit into panic mode.

Jarret Stoll netted the game-winner 8:44 into the second extra session for the Oilers, who also got a goal and an assist from Ryan Smyth and three assists from Shawn Horcoff.

The Red Wings did manage to recover from a 3-1 deficit midway through the third period behind goals 18 seconds apart from Henrik Zetterberg and defenseman Mathieu Schneider.

However, Manny Legace - who finished with 28 saves - allowed the game-winner to Stoll shortly after making a clutch save on Sergei Samsonov's wraparound. Detroit has lost four of its last five games against Edmonton, dating to the regular season.

The series moves back to Detroit for Game Five on Saturday.
