UNIONDALE, New York (Ticker) -- After a lackluster road trip to open the season, the New York Islanders will try to turn things around at home

Finally home after opening with four straight road contests this season, the Islanders host the Boston Bruins on Saturday.

Boston, which is playing the finale of their season-opening five-game road trip, has lost two straight and tries to rebound from a painful 3-2 shootout loss to the St. Louis Blues on Thursday.

The Bruins led 2-0 with just under four minutes to go in the third period but could not hold the lead and eventually lost when Lee Stempniak scored on Tim Thomas in the fourth round of the shootout.

Patrice Bergeron and Marc Savard scored for the Bruins, who went 0-for-7 on the power play. Boston is 2-for-26 with the extra skater this season.

The Islanders lost their first three games and were outscored, 12-5, but finished their four-game west coast trip with a 5-4 shootout victory over the Anaheim Ducks on Wednesday.

Mike York scored the game-winner in the shootout and also had a goal in regulation while backup netminder Mike Dunham stopped 46 of 50 shots.
