SAN JOSE, California (Ticker) -- The Pittsburgh Penguins are
arguably the biggest surprise in the NHL this season.
The Penguins go for their sixth straight victory when they play
the San Jose Sharks on Saturday in the third game of a four-game
West Coast swing.
Pittsburgh earned a dramatic 4-3 victory over the Los Angeles
Kings on Wednesday. Rookie sensation Evgeni Malkin scored two
goals, and both were highly significant.
His first gave him a goal in his first six career NHL games, as
he became only the fourth player in league history to accomplish
Malkin's second goal won the game for Pittsburgh at 2:45 of
overtime when he stood at the edge of the Los Angeles crease and
banged home a rebound.
The Sharks try to bounce back from a 2-1 defeat at the hands of
the New York Rangers on Thursday.
Defenseman Kyle McLaren scored the lone goal for the Sharks, who
went scoreless in five power-play opportunities.
